This goblet was thrown on the pottery wheel in two parts, the cup and base were thrown separately and attached together. The design was created by hand, then it was fired in the kiln at 2170°F.
The clay is a sandy colored ceramic stoneware with dark speckles. The glaze was applied by hand, and sits in the hand carved design. The outside of the goblet has been left unglazed except for the design, lip, and the inside of the goblet, which is glazed in a glossy speckled white.
