This planter was thrown on the pottery wheel and the design carved by hand, then fired in the kiln at 2170°F.
The clay is a warm sandy colored ceramic stoneware with dark speckles. The white glaze sits in the handcarved design, and beautifully contrasts the naked clay surrounding it.
