This mug was thrown on the pottery wheel, the design was carefully carved by hand and the handle added, then fired in the kiln at 2170°F.
The clay is a warm sandy ceramic stoneware, and the glossy white glaze highlights the design. The inside and ;ip are glazed, but the outside of the mug is textured from the naked clay.
