This bud vase was thrown on the pottery wheel, the design was carved by hand, and then fired in the kiln at 2380°F.
The clay is a russet colored ceramic stoneware, and the addition of this glaze has generated a chemical reaction in the kiln, creating a lava-like, metallic exterior.
